HC Deb 19 December 1928 vol 223 cc3028-9W
Mr. DAY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether any chairs have been purchased through his Department during the three years ended to the last convenient date; and can he state the country of origin of these chairs?

Sir V. HENDERSON

Approximately 69,000 chairs have been purchased by the Office of Works during the three years ended 31st March, 1928. Practically the whole of these were purchased from British manufacturers. A few were selected from trade stocks, and, so far as is known, these also were of British manufacture.
