HC Deb 17 December 1928 vol 223 c2632W

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury how many adding machines are used at the Treasury; and how many of these were manufactured in the British Empire?

Excluding machines obtained temporarily for purposes of demonstration and test, there are four adding machines employed in the Treasury for ordinary day to day work. None of these particular machines was manufactured in the British Empire. I am not aware of any type of adding machine which is wholly manufactured in the British Empire.
