HC Deb 11 December 1928 vol 223 cc1937-8W
Sir R. THOMAS

asked the Minister of Transport whether there has been laid before him any proposal for utilising the tidal power of the Wash, which has tides of from 17 to 25 feet, for the generation of electrical power; whether he has examined the project; and whether his advisers consider it a practical scheme?

Colonel ASHLEY

I have seen in the Press some reference to this proposal, but neither I nor the Electricity Commissioners have given it any countenance or approval.
