HC Deb 10 December 1928 vol 223 c1727W
Sir R. THOMAS

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the need of a bridge over the mouth of the Neath river; that the lack of it has always caused, and is increasingly causing, delay and expense to traffic by road between Swansea and eastern Glamorgan; and whether he will invite the local interests which would be concerned to a conference upon this matter?

Colonel ASHLEY

Informal discussions regarding such a project have taken place between officers of my Department and representatives of some of the local authorities concerned, but without definite result. I am fully prepared to encourage the study of the proposal by the parties concerned, with a view to the possible safeguarding of the route.
