HC Deb 20 April 1928 vol 216 c518W
Mr. DAY

asked the Secretary for Mines whether he has any statistics that will show the number of accidents arising through explosions of fire-damp or coal-dust caused by the use of explosives in mines in Great Britain for the 12 months ended to the last convenient date?

Commodore KING

During the year 1927, four explosions of fire-damp or coal-dust were originated by shotfiring at mines in Great Britain. They resulted in two deaths and injury to nine persons.
