The following table shows the numbers on the registers of the Borough Employment Exchange at the end of March in each of the years 1926–1928:

the live registers for employment without restriction provided they have once obtained work for the required number of weeks; and whether there is any means of indicating the place of origin of persons whose names are on the register of Employment Exchanges?


Any British subject may, without restriction, enter Great Britain to seek casual or other employment and register for employment at an Employment Exchange. Information as to the place of birth of applicants for employment other than aliens is not usually obtained by the Employment Exchanges.
