HC Deb 22 November 1927 vol 210 c1631W
Mr. RILEY

asked the Minister of Agriculture how many applications have been made to date by county councils for permission to operate schemes for the establishment of small holdings under the Small Holdings Act, 1926; the number of applications to which consent has been given; and how many applications, if any, have been rejected?

Sir H. BARNSTON

I have been asked to reply. Sixty-three applications have been made, of which 33 relate to the acquisition of additional land, and 30 to the further equipment of land already held by the councils. In 54 cases contributions have been approved, seven applications are under consideration, one has been withdrawn, and one was refused.
