§ Sir W. DAVISONasked the Secretary of State for Air as to the progress which has been made in securing adequate defence for London from air attacks; and by what date will the necessary defences be completed?
§ Sir S. HOAREAs regards the first part of the question, the defence of London is an essential part of the scheme for the air defence of this country approved by His Majesty's Government in 1923. Of the 52 squadrons provided for in that scheme, 28 have been formed and three more are due to form before the end of the present financial year. As regards the last part, I would refer my hon. Friend to my statement in the1050W Memorandum accompanying Air Estimates, 1926.
