§ Colonel DAYasked the Postmaster-General the number of new automatic post offices where the public will be able to telephone, send telegrams, buy stamps, and post letters that have been, or are being, erected in the Metropolitan area; and what is the original cost of them?
§ Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSONA small number of telephone kiosks, with stamp selling machines and posting boxes attached, are about to be constructed as an experiment, but the details are not yet finally settled, and until this has been done I cannot say what the precise cost of the kiosks is likely to be. The cost of installation, of course, varies with the local circumstances.
