§ Viscount WOLMERI assume that the grey coloured letter referred to is the one sent out from the Savings Bank Department, which is used to acknowledge a deposit of £20 or more. Under the Savings Bank Acts the amount of any deposits or withdrawals must be kept secret, and acknowledgments of deposits cannot therefore take the shape of a postcard, as the hon. Member suggests.
