§ Mr. B. SMITHasked the President of the Board of Education whether he will state the existing amount of accommodation for pupils in open-air schools and the average numbers in attendance?
§ Lord E. PERCYAt the present time there is accommodation in certified day and residential open-air schools for 6,736 pupils. During the year ended 31st March, 1926, the average number of pupils in such schools was 6,100. The hon. Member will understand that the total number of individual children dealt with in schools of this type during the year is very considerably larger than the average number in attendance throughout the year.
