Lieut.-Colonel STANLEYThe permanent civil servants who were appointed to the posts mentioned by the hen. Member had become redundant in their grade, and it was my right hon. Friend's obvious duty to consider the possibility of providing them with alternative duties appropriate to their rank. I would point out that none of the officers referred to in the question held the appointment mentioned for the whole of the financial year. The aggregate salary and bonus which has been or will be paid to each of these officers during the current financial year is as follows:
