HC Deb 02 June 1927 vol 207 c562W
Sir J. DAVIDSON

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the total number of pre-War pensioners who are precluded from benefiting from the Pensions Increase Acts, 1920 and 1924, owing to the operation of the age limit and, being under the age of 60 years, are still receiving pensions on the pre-War scale; and the numbers in the various categories separately: Navy, Army, Civil Service, teachers and police?

Mr. McNEILL

In the absence of any knowledge of the extent to which the means limits would operate in these cases, it is impossible to say what is the number of pre-War pensioners who are precluded from benefiting under the Pensions Increase Acts owing to the operation of the age limit only.
