§ Mr. SHORTasked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether the Government of India have been consulted by the governing body of the International Labour Office, in accordance with the recommendation of the International Labour Conference, that in co-operation with the Governments concerned a documentary inquiry should be made into the conditions of labour in the chief Asiatic countries; whether he will inform the House if any steps have so far been taken by the Government of India and the other party concerned to carry out this recommendation; and what facilities, if any, are being offered, or are proposed to be offered, to the governing body of the International Labour Office to help them to conduct a full inquiry into the Indian workers' conditions of labour?
