§ Mr. CHURCHILLThe gross annual value of all lands assessed under Schedule A in England and Wales was, for the year 1913–14, £36,871,000; for the year 1925–26 it is estimated to be about £42,000,000. I regret that I am unable to divide these figures as between agricultural land and land used for other purposes, or to state the net income corresponding to them. The Income Tax repaid in respect of the excess cost of maintenance, repairs, etc., of lands was approximately £50,000 in 1913–14, but no corresponding figure is available for the year 1925–26, for which year lands cannot be distinguished from other property.
