§ Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTERSince January, 1926, four applications have been referred to committees, for inquiries to be held in accordance with the White Paper on Safeguarding of Industries. One of these applications related to certain articles of pottery, and the Finance Bill 719W makes provision for an import duty of 28 shillings a hundredweight on certain tableware of translucent or vitrified pottery.
