HC Deb 15 February 1927 vol 202 c767W
Mr. SNELL

asked the Minister of Health the total number of temporary clerical and typing grades employed in his Department on the 1st October, 1926, and on the 1st January, 1927, respectively?

Mr. NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN

The total number of temporary clerical officers, shorthand writers and typists employed in my Department on 1st October, 1926, was 920, and on 1st January, 1927, 850. The reduction was in the main due to a number of the temporary clerical officers having obtained permanent posts through the Southborough examination.
