§ Sir B. CHADWICKThe Board of Trade estimated that in 1913 exports of coal accounted for 80 per cent. of the weight of the total exports of goods the produce and manufacture of the United Kingdom. Corresponding estimates have not been made by the Board of Trade for recent years, but according to estimates made by the Liverpool Steam Ship Owners' Association, the corresponding proportions would be as follow:
