asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will supply particulars with regard to the Crown Colonies of the deaths from the following

STATEMENT of the information available in the Colonial Office of the number of deaths from blackwater fever, yellow fever, small-pox, encephalitis lethargica, cerebro-spinal fever and poliomyelitis in the British Colonies, Protectorates, etc., during the years 1923, 1924 and 1925, respectively.

Note (1).—As the above statistics have been prepared from sources of information which in many cases are incomplete, they can be regarded only as a partial statement of the mortality of the populations of the various Colonies, Protectorates, etc., from the particular diseases in question. In extensive territories such as Kenya, Nigeria, etc., where the registration of deaths, when it exists at all, is confined to certain urban areas, the total mortality of the native population from particular diseases cannot be given.
