§ Mr. GROVESasked the Minister of Health whether he will consider the desirability of amending Clause 16 of the Milk and Dairies Order so as to prevent any person engaging in the milking of cows who is suffering from cow-pox, tuberculosis, venereal disease or skin diseases generally?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe Prevention of Tuberculosis Regulations, 1925, contain provisions for preventing any person who is suffering from tuberculosis of the respiratory tract from milking cows. I am advised that there is no evidence that the other diseases mentioned are likely to be transmitted to consumers through the medium of milk, and consequently I do not at present propose to modify the Order in the sense suggested.
