§ Mr. JOHNSTONasked the Under-Secretary to the Scottish Board of Health 267W if he is aware that orphans' pensions are not paid on behalf of children admitted to a children's home under the control of a parish council in Scotland, and are paid on behalf of orphan children admitted to privately-owned institutions; and if he can give any reason for this distinction?
§ Captain ELLIOTI would refer the hon. Member to the Third Schedule of the Widows', Orphans' and Old Age Contributory Pensions Act, 1925, in terms of which a person is disqualified, except under certain conditions, from receiving or continuing to receive a pension under the Act while he is an inmate of a Poor Law institution.
