THORNEasked the Prime Minister the number of local authorities in the various parts of the country who have sent him Resolutions protesting against the mineowners' demands for a reduction in the scale of wages of the mine workers or an increase in the number of their daily working hours, and asking him to take action at once to secure the immediate withdrawal of the lock-out notices in the mining industry; and what action he intends taking in the matter?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI have received very few Resolutions in this sense from local authorities. The position of the Government has been stated on several occasions and there will be further opportunity for discussion to-day and to-morrow.
