§ Major COLFOXasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that the Greek Government has disregarded the rights of a British company, which was granted a concession in Navarino Bay, and has stopped their operations after allowing work to be carried on for two years; and what steps His Majesty's Government is taking, or proposes to take, to safeguard the rights of British nationals?
§ Sir A. CHAMBERLAINThe Greek Government contend that the concession58W in question is not valid as it has not been ratified, and that they are therefore justified in suspending the operations of the company. The situation thus created is one of some complexity and is being carefully examined, and I am not for the present in a position to reply to the last part of the question.
