§ Earl WINTERTONIndian seamen employed on ships registered under Indian law are included in the Indian Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923. Those employed, as most of them are, on ships registered under the United Kingdom Merchant Shipping Act, 1894, are entitled to the benefit of the United Kingdom Workmen's Compensation Act, 1906, but it is understood that seamen so employed in many eases obtain by voluntary agreement with their employers the right to receive compensation under the Indian Act.
