§ Mr. OTHO NICHOLSONasked the Minister of Health what arrangements have been made as to the payment of the costs, and by whom, in the legal proceedings concerning the recent surcharge of councillors in the Borough of Poplar and in the Borough of Bethnal Green?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe Order of the Court in each case was that the costs of the auditor should be paid by the respondents to the appeal. I have at the present time under consideration an application from the Poplar Borough Council for sanction to the payment by 749W the council of the costs of the auditor and of the costs which the respondents have themselves incurred.
