§ Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKSThe total number of retired members of the Metropolitan Police on the pension list on 31st December, 1925, was 12,211; and the total cost of their pensions was £1,333,752 per annum. The average number pensioned during the last three years has been 721 per annum.
