asked the Minister of Agriculture if he can state, with reference to the table of imports of potatoes recently given, what proportion of potatoes were imported before and after the 1st August in each of the years for which figures were given?

The quantities of potatoes imported into the United Kingdom* during 1913 and 1921 to 1925 inclusive, together with the respective proportions of the total imported during the first seven months, and the last five months of each year were as follow:

The existing arrangements for furnishing incoming passengers with information regarding Customs requirements affecting them are now under review, and the suggestion made by my hon. and gallant Friend is one of the points receiving consideration. I may observe that public notices as to these requirements are exhibited on cross-Channel steamers.
