HC Deb 04 February 1926 vol 191 c357W
Brigadier-General CLIFTON BROWN

asked the Minister of Agriculture what the average cost of administration of small-holding estates by county councils amounted to for the year 1924–25; and what percentage of their total expenditure did these administrative cost account for?

Mr. GUINNESS

The approximate cost of administration of the small-holding estates of county councils in England and Wales in the year 1924–25 was £155,000. This expenditure, which includes payment for services other than, the management of the estates, represents rather less than 9 per cent. of their total expenditure in relation to their estates.
