HC Deb 15 December 1926 vol 200 c2935W
Mr. HAMMERSLEY

asked the Secretary of State for Air what proportion of the flying machines in use are of pre-1917 design?

Sir S. HOARE

Out of a total of 22 types of machine (excluding experimental machines) in use by the Royal Air Force to-day, there are only two which were designed prior to 1917—one a service and one a training type. The number of machines of these types at the present time represents approximately 36 per cent. of the total -number of machines.
