HC Deb 15 December 1926 vol 200 cc2961-2W
Viscountess ASTOR

asked the Minister of Labour what sum would represent the capitalised value of prospective benefits under the Unemployment Insurance Acts for an insured man aged 20?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

I regret that I am unable to furnish the information desired. It is a question which does not arise in the administration of the Unemployment Insurance scheme. I am, however, advised that in the case of a person of the age of 20 the capitalised value of the future benefits cannot be much, if any, in excess of the corresponding value of the combined contributions which have to be paid to qualify for these benefits.
