HC Deb 10 December 1926 vol 200 c2436W
Mr. NEIL MACLEAN

asked the Secretary of. State for Scotland the purpose for which Conon Lodge and the lands, parks, and plantations adjoining were purchased?

Sir J. GILMOUR

The subjects referred to formed part of the estate of Kilmuir, which was purchased in 1904 by the Congested Districts Board mainly with the object, I understand, of utilising the farms on the estate, so far as they were suitable for the purpose, for extension of existing holdings and for new holdings.
