HC Deb 04 August 1926 vol 198 c3026W

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs how many migrants from Scotland have been accepted under the new cheap assisted passage scheme to the latest available dates; how many of these are experienced farm workers; and how many are domestic servants.

The following is the number of migrants from Scotland who have been granted reduced passages to Canada under the new agreement up to 31st July, 1926:

Farmworkers 1,184
Members of Farmworkers' Families 1,986
Women Household Workers 900
Total 4,070

Approximately 80 per cent. of the men accepted as farmworkers were experienced agricultural workers.
