HC Deb 13 April 1926 vol 194 c23W
Mr. ROBINSON

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether it is proposed to impose a duty on imported hosiery and knitted wear; and whether he has any evidence that the United States are, or have been, exporting these goods to this country at or below the cost of manufacture and material?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE - LISTER:

The application for a safeguarding duty on hosiery and knitted wear of certain descriptions has been referred to a Committee of Inquiry, which is now taking evidence. I have no doubt that any evidence there may be of the nature mentioned in the second part of the question will be submitted to the Committee by the applicants.
