§ Mr. BARRasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that Swedish importers who suffered seizure of their cargoes by the British Navy during War were compensated for their losses to the extent of 50 per cent., subject to substantial reductions for storage, loading, and unloading, and that the Association of Swedish Creditors of Great Britain have made a claim for the re-opening of the question of this compensation; and what steps, if any, does he propose to take to satisfy this claim?
§ Mr. McNEILLThe Association of Swedish Creditors of Great Britain has issued a pamphlet on the subject, to which no doubt the hon. Member refers. These claims were, however, finally settled by the Agreement concluded, in November, 1919, between the British Government on the one hand and the Swedish Government and the Swedish nationals concerned on the other hand.
