§ Colonel DAYasked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been drawn to the view expressed at a meeting of the joint industrial council of the boot and shoe industry regarding the use of compressed brown paper in the manufacture of footwear; and will he consider legislation with a view to all footwear appearing with the registered brand of the manufacturer, setting forth the component parts of the boot or shoe?
Mr. SAMUELI understand that a resolution to this effect was passed at the meeting, and I will see that the suggestion is considered.
