§ Lord E. PERCYAs far as England and Wales are concerned the figures, accord- 651W ing to the latest complete returns available, are as under. The figures for county boroughs have been included in those of the counties in which they are severally situated, and the information given in the table includes not only pupils who have been awarded free places in accordance with Article 20 of the Regulations for Secondary Schools, but also other pupils admitted free, together with pupils whose fees were remitted after they had entered the schools:
