§ Mr. COMPTONasked the Minister of Pensions whether he will inform the War Pensions Committee of any area which he or his Parliamentary Secretary proposes to visit in order that the members of the committees may be permitted to put before him the local reasons for dissatisfaction with recent decisions of the Ministry; and whether similar arrangements can be made enabling the men concerned or their representatives to state in person their views of the Ministry's action in individual cases or categories of cases?
§ Major TRYONIt is my intention and practice where opportunity offers to see the chairman or members of the War Pensions Committee and ex-service men. But it is essential to the object I have in view, namely, that of observing the working of the local machinery of my Department, that the visits to local offices which have been and are being made by my hon. and gallant Friend and myself should not be announced beforehand.
