WORTHINGTON-EVANSThe rates of fuel and light allowance quoted are those laid down for officers holding the highest appointments in the Army, and are based on the cost of the fuel and light required in the residences of such officers; they obviously bear no relation to the cost to an innkeeper of the billeted officer's lodging and attendance. As I have already informed the hon. Member, the present billeting rates are considered sufficient.
