§ Mr. DENNISONasked the Minister of Health if he is aware that in the city of Birmingham the intention of Circular 604 is being evaded by the open-window exposure of meat for sale and that, in order to have equal opportunities of com petition, meat sellers are having their plate-glass windows removed; and, having regard to the desirability of keeping meat for sale under hygienic conditions, whether he will so amend the Circular as to make, it obligatory that no meat for public consumption shall be exposed in an open window?
Mr. CHAMBERL INI have received some information to the effect set out in the first part of the question, and I am making further inquiries. As regards the second part of the question, I have at present nothing to add to the reply which I gave the hon. and gallant Member for718W Southwark (Colonel Day) on the 21st July last.
