§ Sir A. STEEL-MAITLANDGrants of benefit of the kind which came to be known as "uncovenanted" were first instituted under the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1921, which took effect on 3rd March, 1921. In August last, under the Unemployment Insurance (No. 2) Act, 1924, extended benefit took the place of uncovenanted benefit. No separate records are kept of the amounts of uncovenanted or extended benefit paid.
