Sir F. HALLasked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the fact that the proposal of the London County Council to construct a communicating tramway between Bromley Road and Eltham, for the purpose of serving three large working-class housing estates of the council and the Woolwich Borough Council, has been rejected as the result of the opposition of the London General Omnibus Company, who were the only opponents of a proposal supported by both the local borough councils concerned and, seeing that the London General Omnibus Company do not run the early workmen's services at cheap fares which are in force on the council's tramways and are im- 2270W portant to give satisfactory travelling facilities to the class of persons who will reside on these estates, will he consider the desirability of requiring the company to run similar cheap frequent early morning services?
