HC Deb 09 October 1924 vol 177 cc738-9W
Mr. SUNLIGHT

asked the right hon. Member for Tiverton, as representing the Forestry Commissioners, if, with a view to providing employment to old or unskilled workers in the rural parts of Shropshire, he will arrange, without delay, for the replanting of the hills round Winsterley, Salop?

Mr. ACLAND

In the event of the Forestry Commissioners being able to acquire any land near Winsterley, planting will be proceeded with. A negotiation for an area in the district recently fell through, but the Commissioners are prepared to consider any offers of suitable land in the neighbourhood. Planting grants are available to the owners of land suitable for afforestation purposes.
