§ Mr. LAWSONThe number of discharges for all causes that have taken place from War Department establishments at Woolwich Arsenal and Dockyard during the period in question (excluding transfers) is 956. This includes 141 discharges on account of age or ill-health and 336 resignations. As regards the second part of the question, the hon. Member is aware that a certain number of discharges occurring out of the ordinary course of wastage, etc., will be rendered necessary by the evacuation of stores from the dockyard.
