§ Mr. LIVINGSTONEasked the Secretary for Scotland whether he is now in a position to state, with reference to road construction and repair in the township of Reef, Island of Lewis, whether he has further investigated the position; and what action he has taken, or proposes to take, for the provision of access roads?
Mr. ADAMSONThe reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. I have sanctioned a proposal of the Board of Agriculture for Scotland to increase by 2300 the grant to be offered to the holders for the construction and repair of access roads to this township. The Board are at present in communication, through their local officers, with the holders on the subject of the work to be undertaken with the aid of the increased grant.
