Mr. R. MORRISON

asked the Minister of Pensions if he will give the scale of expenses paid to members of the Special Grants Committee; and the total amount paid to each member during the past year?

Mr. ROBERTS

First-class railway fares, any necessary cab fares, and subsistence allowance on the following scale are allowed:

s. d.
In respect of absence of 24 hours 20 0
In respect of absence of 8 or more hours, but not entailing over night absence 7 0
In respect of absence of 5 to 8 hours 3 6

During the last financial year the following claims to travelling and subsistence expenses were met:
