§ Mr. DUNN
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the fact 1613W that the reasons existing in 1914 for issuing currency notes instead of extending the right of issue by the Bank of England no longer obtain, he will take steps again to place the right of note issue in England exclusively in the hands of the Bank of England?
§ Mr. SNOWDEN
I appreciate the advantages of the course suggested by the hon. Member, but I am not in a position to make any statement at present.
