asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the present number of German citizens who have been deported from the territories occupied by the Allies and the number who have, been allowed to return?

The PRIME MINISTER

According to the latest figures in my possession the number of German citizens expelled from ocupied territories totalled 39,438. Of this number up to date 7,300 have returned. These figures do not include the families of the deportees in either case, nor do they include the Ruhr.
