HC Deb 04 June 1924 vol 174 c1290W

asked the Minister of Transport if work has yet been commenced on the Glasgow to Edinburgh road; and, if not, will he take the necessary steps to get operations started?

Constructional work has not yet commenced, though negotiations for the acquisition of the necessary land have been proceeding for some time. Tenders for the construction of the first section of the road out of Glasgow were received on 27th May, and are now being considered by the Corporation.
