HC Deb 04 June 1924 vol 174 c1283W
Mr. BROAD

asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been drawn to the objection of many local authorities to the increasing number of hoardings erected for the purpose of bill-posting as having a damaging effect on rateable values and on the amenities of their districts; and if he is prepared to promote a Bill making it illegal to erect such hoardings without the consent of local authorities, also conferring power to require the removal of existing hoardings deemed to be undesirable, and containing provisions for definite rateable values being placed on hoardings?

Mr. WHEATLEY

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given on the 26th May last in answer to a similar question by the hon. Member for South-East Essex (Kr. Hoffman).
