HC Deb 31 July 1924 vol 176 c2282W
Mr. M. MITCHELL

asked the Secretary for Scotland (1) what progress has been made with the arrangements for the construction of the Perth-Inverness trunk road; and whether he is in a position to state when work will commence;

(2) whether he will make provision that unemployed ex-service men will be employed in suitable work on the Perth-Inverness road?

Mr. GOSLING

I have been asked to reply. Until certain investigations and negotiations now in progress are completed, I shall not be in a position to make any definite statement as to the reconstruction of the Perth-Inverness road, nor can I usefully discuss the terms of possible contracts in connection with it.
